Porting Types

Single Line

This is where the Range Holder is the same as the LCP* and would typically be for porting from a Single PSTN Line.

There are occasional exceptions, for example BT’s VoIP numbers can also be a Single Line assuming there are no associated numbers of DDI Ranges.

Multi Line

Multi Lines can often be a number that was either an ISDN originally or has always been a VoIP number. Only use this option if the RH and LCP are the same. If not use Subsequent Port.

Subsequent Single Line

As with a single line port but the LCP is different from the RH*.

Subsequent Multi Line

As with a multi line port but the LCP is different from the RH*.

Additional Info

*Some Range Holders use a 3rd Party for hosting and managing ports. Please check the Who Hosts Who page for a list of known Range Holders and who is hosting their numbers.

For example, Vonage is the Range Holder, but if you are porting a Number from Vonage, the LCP will be Gamma and it will be a Multi-Line Port not a Subsequent Multi-Line.
